Can't you just put a washer over the signal stud & it will give you that little extra room against the housing?

Kid, you can space it out but there's no need really. Once you rotate the plastic in place it fits well.
Along with the rotation it takes a little bit of force to get them to pop into place. I was able to get them taken care of and really like the slim look of it.
