DIY - Relocating short rear turn signals to the front

The front turn signals stand out quite a bit, and by shortening them, they blend in with the body much better. I reused the rear signals that I removed after doing a tail tidy. No cutting or splicing needed with this method.

    The goal:

Step 1 - Disassemble stock rear turn signal:

Step 2 - remove side panels to gain access to turn signal and wiring:

Step 3 - unplug wiring, remove turn signal, and disassemble:

I bought a set of rear blinkers and am in the middle of swapping them. They are all on but now I have a problem putting the black side panels on, it seems that they hit on the blinker body and won't slide back far enough to clear it and install the bolts.

Did is you have to do any trimming of those black panels at all? If so could you take a picture of the cuts and please post it here?

    thanks

Jeremy, I had to put them on at an angle then rotate then into position. They do fit tight to the signal, with no cutting required.

    That's what I did, too.

Thanks guys, it looks like I tightened up the blinker posts too much and they didn't flex enough. I loosened them up, twisted the plate into place, and wallah all in. It looks like the blinkers flex out a little but I like this look much better now.

Now all I need to do is clean up the tail and install Dean's finish kit. New levers and bar ends (vibranators) installed. Then finally get all those break-in miles done so I can open it up.

separatly, is there a big difference in TC settings? I'm on 10 and will probably go to 3 after break in.

    thanks again.

Honestly, I think most people leave TC off in dry conditions. I haven't been caught in the rain yet, but if I do I'll turn on TC somewhere in the middle (around 10).
