Yea my front rear heat shield mount is broken for the second time, and of course the front header blew out at the seams due to loss of the front muffler mount bolt. As for the RC8 comment that's a negative ghostrider, RX despite its troubles is far more refined.

Just a note about the muffler "weld" breakage.
At least on mine, the weld didn't break or tear, the metal above the weld pulled apart. In a "V" pattern well away from the weld.

Hmm, I'll try to remember to look when I replace the bad body panels to see if my weld survived the crash...

Anyway, this should not be! Especially in this price range.
I drive on twins 9 years - on any weld seams do not crack. I owned Honda SP-1, Aprilia RSV1000R, Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, KTM 990 Super Duke.

The break occurred in the "heat affected zone" adjacent to the weld. Read all about it on page 3 (page 4 of PDF): http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...ldcracking.pdf

I'd guess it was caused by inadequate quality control in the welding process.

Lack of purge gas. I looked at the inside of a couple of headers, all of them show signs of sugaring, which is from little or no argon on the back side of the weld.
