Brakes , pushing the limit

Done 1000 track race kms and weaknesses showing with the single disc. Running sbs dual sinter pads, great while they are fresh but when they overheat the metal galls up on the pad and starts to gouge the rotor . My track is extremely demanding on brakes , whilst they are as good as Brembos while fresh , I can see maintaining these is goib to get expensive ! Any carbon pads available ?

Yea no kidding LOL!!! For the price of a full Akrapovic system you can get a carbon brake system, a similar system for a conventional brake set up would be double if not triple the price. Hopefully EBR comes back soon, that SICOM rotor on the RS Magnesium hub-less wheels would be awesome!

You can remove the spring clips that will allow more air to flow through, also clean the rotor on a regular basis.

Just a bad material choice apparently.
While my CR didn't show any problems, my XB and my RX have, for no good reason.
Actually, my CR DID have the bad rear...cylinder problem with the sticking piston that also screwed up the disc.
The ONLY bike brand I've owned (since 1986) with disc problems.

Just use cast iron and plate the unused area to keep the rust at bey.

Should I be rubbing the pad face on emery or the likes frequently too ? Do you use the backing plates ? Any one tried the wave rotor

I usually do the rotor only, but if the pads are glazed I would hit them to, I don't use the backing plate either. As far as rotors go the EBR rotor is the best option.
