    GP Shift install Poll

Like all motorcycles the RX comes with standard 1 down 5 up shifting from the factory. Unlike the RS, in order to reverse the shift pattern one must obtain a GP shift kit instead of just flipping the shift knuckle 180 degrees. After installing the RS linkage ( which requires trimming of the belly pan) I decided to try GP shift for the first time and find I LOVE IT, much more natural to me. Among other things I find the level of effort with RS kit installed is lower even though the through range is longer. The RX tranny is actually very smooth! So the question how many RX guys have or are planning to convert to GP shift?

P.S. this bike was made to have a quickshifter!!!

What, in total, with quick shifter did it all set you back?

Check with Ed at AF1 racing for a quote on the RS shifter parts. The Quick shifter sensor requires the use of a race ECU to work. The sensor and rod will run about $200 (USD). All money well spent, they bike is so easy to ride fast. Part of EBR's problem is with so few customers its hard to focus on which aftermarket products. For instance they were under the impression that only racers ( which I am NOT) were looking for the GP shift pattern when in fact the only reason I have never tried it before is because it always required rear sets to do on my previous bikes. I actually LOVE it!

I think it's much easier to hit gears quickly with GP shift!

I have considered flipping the RS, but the rest of them are conventional and old people can't remember what they are supposed to be doing.

a proper GP-QS systsem is coming for the RX and SX.

The 1125 kit could be used, but the bellypan will have to be modified.

The 1190 kit will include a quickshifter and have part number N1620A.14BX.
MSRP will be $399.99. In order for the QS to function, the bike must have a race ECM from either of the exhaust kits (tips or HMF)

We expect this to be available within 30-45 days.

Is EBR releasing a quick shifter without converting to GP?
