    EBR in Dutch Championship

Racing team Bertus Folkertsma in Dutch Championship with EBR 1190 RX in 2015

Dutch racing team Bertus Folkertsma is very proud to announce it will be racing the EBR 1190RX in the Dutch Championship for the 2015 roadrace season.
Early November2013 the team contacted EBR Europe to discuss possibilities to race the 1190 RX and develop the bike to run in the Dutch National Superbike championship. At the end of the 2014 season, the team made some testruns on the Assen circuit that gave the team a positive feeling of the bike.

The team bought two EBR’s and will start racing the EBR 1190 RX in the Twin Cup championship. Once the bike is up to speed, the team will enter the bike into the Open Dutch Championship Dutch Superbike, the premier class in Dutch motorcycle racing.
Team Bertus Folkertsma is well known for it’s professional approach to motorcycle racing. The Assen based team has a long history in the Dutch Superbike championship.

Team owner and main rider of the team, Bertus Folkertsma hopes to have the EBR in position for some points scoring finishes in the Open Dutch Superbike championship by the end of the 2015 season.
Bertus Folkertsma: “This opportunity of developing and race the EBR on the Dutch circuits makes me very proud and happy, it’s a new step for our team. We will do all we can to get good results with the EBR. I have a lot of faith in this machine, after all it’s a product created by an icon in motorcycle racing, Erik Buell, who is never afraid of challenges, just like our team.”

Nice! Would that race will be televised in the States or Europe?

No not this class. Once we move up to Onk Dutch Superbike later on, those races are always available on YouTube. For the races in the twincup class, we will try to make small compilation movies of ourselves (on- and of the bike).

DNF in first race, but positive feeling about the EBR

The first race for Bertus Folkertsma in the Dutch Twin cup championship on april 5 ended after 4 laps with a brake line problem. Nevertheless the team was very positive about the bike. The bike's first outing ever during practice sessions went perfect, and Bertus was actually pleasantly surprised, because the bike handled well right away, the suspension setup only required some minor adjustments and the feeling on the bike was good. The race started with Bertus in a comfortable fifth position.
Unfortunately just at the point where he decided to move up going for the top three positions, a problem with the brake line occured. This caused a lack of brake pressure, which forced him to retire. Not the result we wanted, but a very good feeling about the bike for the upcoming races.

Bummer. Hope the next round goes better. Good to hear the bike seems to be performing well not counting the failure.

Bertus Folkertsma third in Dutch procup, first in twincup on EBR

Yesterday Bertus Folkertsma finished third in the Dutch ProCup 1000 race, first in the integrated Twin Cup class in Assen. The team is delighted with this achievement, which shows the potential of the EBR.
