    Post -- tank grips --

-- TechSpec tank grips are finally back! --
They had discontinued them earlier this year... So you might want to get them now before it happens again.

Idk about you, tank grips are the No1 upgrade I do on any bike I've had.
When I reached out in January to request about the grips, they explained that the grip surface for our bikes uses more material and after an increase in material costs, combined with low demand for our bikes (surprising...), they did not meet a significant enough profit to continue selling tank grips for EBRs, so they discontinued them. They turned things around, and you can get them directly from their website again.

This is a simple PSA, I am not doing any promotion here. I don't work for them, it's a product I've always used. Due to how rare our bikes are, I think you might want to get these NOW, before they're eventually discontinued again.

Cooter, by 2 airbox covers, do you mean the plastic cracked and the cover became garbage?

One got brittle and the mounting tab broke off, and wrecked one turn 12 Buttonwillow.

Mr. Jacob 'official lead engineer for the new Buell' Stark was there to witness the carnage, haha. Thats his 1125 CR. #69, but not a race bike, he just stuck hardware store numbers on a his street bike for track days.

Do NOT put T-rex axle sliders on an EBR. The combination of the extremely wide swingarm and very wide sliders makes them contact the ground before even the pegs do, taking weight off the rear tire at max lean angle. I'm still pissed about it.
If you sight down the board you can see the tons of clearance left:(

Oh yeah, rear axle slider touching the ground in a turn sucks big time. Thanks for the heads up!

My fairings are becoming trash too, it's unbelievable how poor quality these are.
As a designer, I think the simple design of the fairings and using a vacuum formed manufacturing process are a great idea. The problem is in the execution, EBR went with a very poor and too thin of a plastic. Also some reinforcement in fastener areas should have been used. (Hindsight is always right of course... Not trying to pretend I know-it-all. But if someone at Buell reads this...)

Cooter, you could try laying an entire layer of fiberglass on the inside of your air box cover.
It won't prevent crash damage, but will hold up to knee pressure and vibrations a lot better. unless yours was already FG...

Temporary fiberglass fix on my own fairings below:

    To anyone attempting this:
    - your garage/shop will stink for a while.
    - it takes quite some time. So only you can be the judge, but if you are willing to spend the money right now, then I'd recommend getting the fiberglass or CF fairings right away.

Long term, I would only trust the NCCR fiberglass fairings or the new Buell carbon fiber fairings.

(Maybe I should have made this its own thread...)

I did something very similar using epoxy and clear plastic sheet to repair tabs and reinforce mounting holes. Well done!
BTW the HotBodies race fairings are very poor quality too. I knew that going in, but I couldn't even use the fiberglass airbox cover. Too thin to trust my knee on it:(

THANKS for sharing about HotBodies !

The Hotbodies fairings kit is on clearance on STG. I was considering it. I'll pass then.

I know there is a Fiber Glass kit in white on NCCR.
What other Fiber Glass options do we have?

None that I know of. 1125 stuff fits if thats a path you want to explore, but I can't get over the better looks and individuality of the 1190 enough to do that,
Where in Cali are you? I'm El Segundo and you're welcome to see it in person if you want.
