Don't ask how I know but with a solid peg in the center hole and you dump, the peg goes inward from the material between the surrounding holes bending / absorbing impact. You will need a new rearset but the increased ground clearance can help save things like a prop-rod holding the bike up off the ground. The center hole is also the only one with threads, so between those ideas, mine will always be in the center. Woodcraft pegs also have cuts so the end will break off if it gets caught sliding. Still a risk but so is elsewhere when crashing especially at high speed. Risk / reward balance like anything..

    Been there too:(
The folders do break off much too easily, IMO kinda missing the point. I had the T-rex rear axle sliders hit the pavement and unload the rear tire before the factory pegs touched .
IMO, the multiple holes in the rearsets are just a fashion statement. It doesn't fit any peg I've ever tried in anything but that one hole.
My feet are much too wide for the fancy shmancy $400 ones EBR sells (anyone want them? Lol, I haven't heard back).

Nice. And that is a good point about the holes, I never tried to fit anything in them, and I never confirmed but after going down with the solid peg and it bending in along the perimeter centerlines of the holes, I think they're there not just to save weight and look cool but much more so to absorb crash impact with solid pegs making it less likely for the mount to break off or take the case with it. Solid pegs are just too sexy so I don't mind giving Bill or Jens more money if needed, haha.

Well like our government says don't worry about the number because eventually it will pay for itself and even create a surplus (of feel-goods)
