    Dumb question about valve adjust

I've done the valve check on my Aprilia Tuono three times in 65,000 miles. To change the shims the cams have to come out. It looks like in the photos the shims can be removed without removing the cams. Am I correct? Do the rockers slid sideways?
    Thanks in advance.

Correct. Remove the brown plastic (hard nylon) retainer by rotating it over and popping it out of place. The cam follower will slide to the side, allowing access to the shim. Use a magnet to remove it. Stuff rags down into any holes BEFORE you start that procedure though, chasing shims is not a fun activity.

Thanks Dean. I thought it was that way. But thanks about removing the hard nylon retainer! Nice!
