I was aware of the screen and saw that someone said it could be taken out without dropping the exhaust, but I opted not to do it at my first service since the owner's manual does not include it as part of that service and because the oil coming out was so clean. I may do it at the next service, or in between now and then. It's a good idea, I'm sure.
Looks like metal but was hardened sealant or similar texture...
Thx , that is worth getting out , When I do mine, I will take a pic. I changed my oil at 600 & 1500, I am at 2300 now about ready again. I like clean oil.
If I was going to change it that often I would just pull the filter and then top of oil. The oil is clean, it's the filter that's the issue.

Looks like the debris some showed a couple years ago on here or badweatherbikers. I think the determination was RTV or some excess sealant.
I just feel better that its out .
I'd be changing that oil more often than that. Flush that stuff out.
