Yeah, I think I'll forego trying to make one. Definitely needs to go the the shop. Here's a thought, someone makes those for EBR, they are all set up to manufacture them. We should try to find out who and contact them.
I was thinking for a functional unit, but now that I'm looking at a photo, I see the OEM part is a fairly complex shape. You could probably make a workable substitute out of flat stock, but it wouldn't be very close to the original part.Originally Posted by 1190SX

Yeah thought the same thing about how complex it was.. I like the idea about finding who makes them for EBR and sourcing them out or maybe the will give out the dxf cad file and we could make them
That file is probably included in the IP LAP is still trying to find a buyer for.
Perhaps, this does not mean you can't request they manufacture a replica if you send them the model.
According to a couple of people on Facebook today, apparently EBR is getting more swingarm guards and bodywork manufactured due to high demand and to ensure they have enough on hand to support warranty work on 2016 & 2017 bikes.
Probably shouldn't have thrown all that extra bodywork in those bins to get trashed. Hindsight is 20/20.
It sounds like much if not all of that stuff was flawed in some way- scratched, broken tabs, etc. still, people were probably glad to get it.
