I'm on my third. They aren't much more than that from EBR and the ones you buy from EBR are a Revision 2 and supposedly much better QA

Bike was dyno tuned by IDS. Runs fantastic.

EBR basically told me to stuff it and buy a new header from them as its been revised.

They said Early on the manufacturer did struggle with weld quality and flatness of the sealing surface. So later ones are different in terms of improved quality, but no design change.

Then why not just take an old one to a shop and have them improved the welds?

I'm no welder but how it was explained to me by other welders is that the original header wasn't purged before being welded (idk?) and this leads to pitting and eventually kaboom?

My second one actually blew a big as hole in the back of it where the weld failed on the side. I'll post pics when I actually get around to changing.

This is a sugared weld on stainless. It will break, sooner than later. The early headers on the 1190 looked similar to this, not only down the seams on both sides but at the O2 sensor bung as well. I've repaired both front and rear header O2 bungs, never bothered with the split seam though.

Plain and simple, this is from not using purge gas on the inside of the pipe.
