hi all. got my bike in for the 620mi service last week and picked it up saturday. the dealer also fixed the fuel pump issue. i drove for about twenty miles and had an issue where the dash started flickering on and off. it started to go out completely then come back on after a while. when i was able to pull into a gas station the dash was out completely and the idle was a little higher than normal. i turned the key off and let it sit for a minute. tried to start it and no go. Ever so often the dash would light up but when I pressed the start button it went out and the bike would not start.A friend came up with his EBR, we swapped batteries, bike would not start. we noticed that if the ignition was turned to ON and both the rear turn signals lit up dim the dash would not light up. if turned to ON and the rear signals did not come on the dash would light up as normal but once the start button was pressed it would go out and not crank. he left and i waited for an hour for him to return with his truck so we could load it up and get it to my house. we get the bike to my house and just to see i turn it on and it fires right up. let it warm up, turn it off and let it sit for about five minutes. starts right up again. did it a third time and after running for a few minutes the dash would blink off then back on. once it started and the dash and lights had a faint flicker to them.then i decided to leave it alone for the night. i sent an email to tech@ebr.com and here is the reply:

Based on your description of what is happening I would guess there is a poor electrical connection or damaged wire up by the ignition switch behind the faring.

The turn signals are control by the dash so if the power to the dash is being interrupted or pulled low by a short it will affect the turn signals too.

Here is a link to the harness schematic that may be of help
https://media.wix.com/ugd/833e92_a70ee0ed435e4aefb581aba6962a2b<wb r>27.pdf

Thank you,
EBR Tech
***********************

the bike has been at the dealer since monday afternoon, i forwarded the diagram to the dealer monday morning. the tech thought he had it sorted out, said there was a sharp bend in a wire going to the ignition and he thought one wire might have had a break in it and was not sending voltage; he rerouted the wiring and thought it was fixed but when he went to bring it from the shop to me on tuesday afternoon it started doing the same thing.

anyone see this before or have an idea?
