I am going to the DMV tomorrow with my out of state 2015 EBR 1190sx , Just want to make sure that the engine number location that I see is right under the front exhaust on the of the engine casings ?

You VIN number registering the bike is located on the right hand side of the frame. Unless it is an assembled title bike with separate and distinct VINs they shouldn't be interested in that one on the engine.

The engine and frame numbers do not match. I doubt they ever match up tbh. Just looked at mine, it's a 2016 SX. The engine vin/serial number is on the rear cylinder, bottom of the cylinder behind the header.

Kind of hard for different length numbers to match. As in the old BMC days, the engine number (11 characters) is likely just a subset of the full VIN (17 characters).
