Anyone have any pictures of the new redesigned tail section? I heard that they are now a 2 piece design. I am curious how it would all go together and still fit properly.

Is it a two piece now or just reinforced?
It's cut in the center at the point, then riveted together with a small strip of formed rubber in between the sides. Simple enough to do at home, it's where they crack at anyway. The mod makes it stress relieved.
Dean, thanks for the info. A picture would be perfect for the try to make the modification rather than trying to repair the hairline crack I have. Do they cut they whole tail section in half or do they only cut the bottom part? Do you know what kind or type of rubber that is used? I would assume they would use some type of soft rivets to prevent any further damage.
There was supposed to be a kit in the works for early model bikes, not sure what happened with it. I have pics of the mod from my last trip to EBR. It's cut all the way through. No idea on the type of rubber, didn't ask.

Dean, thanks for the pics. It looks like that is a piece of thin aluminum on the inside of the tail. Wonder what kind of rivets would properly hold it in place and not damage it more. I'll have to see what I can find, the toughest part will be the T-rubber in-between the two pieces at the tail.
