Header pipe is getting red hot.

My header pipe is getting red hot at start up at idle. Maybe a min or two after start. I'm guessing this isn't normal? 14 SX no mods.

This is normal. The ecm has the engine running lean and epa compliant. The bikes run much cooler with an aftermarket pipe and corresponding race ecm installed.

Lean...has nothing to do with it..! Wives tale, myth, whatever you want to call it...but NOT because it's lean.
It's low ignition timing. Part of the EPA (government) tune-up.

Get the IDS ECM, that will fix it.
