It's going to be really tight on the wheelbase, IMHO.
I run 16-43 on the endurance machine with a 116-link chain, and it works pretty well. I run 16-44 on the sprint machine (more power) with a 118-link chain.

Dont mean to Thread jack here, but have you tried a 40T sprcket yet? Or is that not a good idea? Im asking because i want to try one when I return home.
