Dash Ground Wire Split

Recently I'd been experiencing intermittent dash resetting and then found turning full right would for sure cut the power. After removing the headlight I noticed a split in its ground wire. There was maybe eight inches of that cloth tape wrapped around it from the upper junction exit to the first bend (on the right in picture). I left that off and soldered in maybe a 4" extension wire between the split. The stock wire has pretty thick strands and doesn't flex well so I used the same gage but something more bendable. So if anybody has a problem with their dash resetting, this may be your problem.
