I've wanted a tank bag and saddle bags for my 1190SX, and at the relaunch party in March, there was a yellow SX teaser with prototype bags on display. I decided that I would like to try to copy that bike's bags as close as possible. Thanks to the forums, I was able to find that these originally came from OGIO, and look to be modified a little.

The bag is setup with four wings that have magnets inside it to attach to a metal tank. Our airbox covers are not metal so that just won't work. So just like the picture of the yellow SX, I will only be using the top and bottom attachments. Step 1 is to cut off the side attachments. (You could fold them underneath the bag, but it would be more likely to scratch the airbox cover).

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/WilliamWalker/EBR/0518162103_zpse3kvxmib.jpg (http://s4.photobucket.com/user/WilliamWalker/media/EBR/0518162103_zpse3kvxmib.jpg.html)

Step 2 - Remove the magnets from the pouches that have just been cut off:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/WilliamWalker/EBR/0518162107_zpssxlj3zxn.jpg (http://s4.photobucket.com/user/WilliamWalker/media/EBR/0518162107_zpssxlj3zxn.jpg.html)

Instead of using the provided straps to run underneath the airbox cover or seat and rub against the paint, I decided to reuse the magnets. By putting the two reclaimed magnets underneath the airbox cover, they will serve as something for the magnets on the top and bottom of the bag to stick to.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/WilliamWalker/EBR/0518162110_zpslhjrcxfc.jpg (http://s4.photobucket.com/user/WilliamWalker/media/EBR/0518162110_zpslhjrcxfc.jpg.html)

Placing the bag on the airbox cover with the magnets on the other side, it holds very securely. I turned it over, tugged on it a bit, shook it like crazy, and it didn't budge at all.

Satisfied with the strength of the magnets, next I moved the bag around until I got it in what I felt was the best placement.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/WilliamWalker/EBR/0518162111_HDR_zpsthzlnoia.jpg (http://s4.photobucket.com/user/WilliamWalker/media/EBR/0518162111_HDR_zpsthzlnoia.jpg.html)

Lastly, once the final placement was decided upon, I secured the interior magnets with some packing/shipping tape. One nice feature of the magnet install is that you can easily pick up your bag and take it with you when you reach a destination. Without securing your interior magnets, they would no longer stay in place after the bag is removed. By taping the interior magnets in place, you can quickly remove and remount your tank bag.

And that's it! Here's just a few shots in my garage tonight. I'll post better pics tomorrow when the sun comes out.

And the best part is when I don't run with the bag, there is nothing left behind like straps dangling.

Feel free - that's why I put it up step by step. I found it on eBay for about $55.

I also saw that you are looking for shorter turn signals. If you do a tail tidy, you could reuse your shorter turn signal stalks up front. It makes a world of a difference, and still has the factory reliability:

I got a universal setup from Cycle Gear. The tidy itself was $45 and the mounting hardware kit was $10. For the price, can't beat it.

Anyone know where I can find that windscreen, I really like that clear one.

I don't know if that was truly created from scratch or if it is modified from another existing part. Once I finish with some color matching and saddlebags, that will probably be the next project.

The windscreen was probably a one-off piece for that project bike. That size and shape of windscreen can be easily adapted from a lot of different bike's screens, or even aftermarket screens for that matter. It looks like it needs a better mounting system too.

It looks like it needs a better mounting system though; not very tough looking at speed with just a couple expansion well nuts holding it in place.

It'd be nice if someone from EBR was cruising these forums the way some other manufacturers do. You would think they would want as much info getting to people as possible. I think people are scared away from the lack of part suppliers and lack of voice coming from EBR. Are they just trying to move the inventory of bikes they have or are they trying to make a brand for themselves? I would be all over social media and forums of i were trying to launch a brand.

For a company that (if I remember correctly) only has about 15 employees, I'm sure all of them have their hands full with building bikes, reaching out to dealerships, marketing, etc. It will come, but priority #1 has to be to get bikes built and in dealerships.

I understand this, but everyone that I have talked to about my bike is turned off by the lack of everything as they make a come back. Parts is one thing and support being the other. No one I have ran into is going to even consider looking at one of these until that changes and I've actually heard a lot of negative comments on this just because no one has any idea about anything ebr without them putting info out there and being available for questions on places such as this. The other issue here in Wisconsin is people want to avoid action powersports like the plague, so at least where I am from people have a negative association with the only dealership selling these. And it's not just action powersports people avoid it's that whole dealer ship group (cedar crooks, fuel powersports etc). So while I like the bike, so far 30 or so of the people I see riding aren't ready to even consider an EBR until that changes.

I caught a lot of flack on the Facebook group for this, but I really have no patience for the complaint of lack of parts or service. I'm not directing this at you recon, because you have one, but to those who bitch about parts as the reason they won't buy the bike - they probably shouldn't have own one.

If you can't be resourceful enough to come up with a solution for a perceived problem, (bikes, or anything else in life) I really have no sympathy. If I wreck my bike and need parts, I can go to LAP. If LAP wasn't available, I could buy parts through eBay. If that wasn't available, I could buy a used parts bike. If that wasn't available I could have a metal part fabbed up or buy a 3D printer and create a part myself. If that wasn't available, I could still get creative. To my father or grandfather this would just be an assumed thing. If I needed to rely on someone else to have the parts sitting on a shelf waiting for me or a warranty to fix it for me, they would agree that I probably shouldn't be riding period...or on my period, because they would assume then that my father had three daughters instead of two and one son. Lol

I wrench on my own stuff. But you gotta remember a majority of people do not and it turns them off.
