So I have just closed a deal with LAP to pick up a 15 1190SX in grey. Before parts pricing goes back up on the 16th, can you guys help me out with what I need to pick up? I have plans on a 42 sprocket, but is there anything else that is a must? It will be ridden often, a lot of both street an highway commuting.
thanks!
Moose

Tires, brake pads, rotors & mounting hardware if you can get it. Maybe a complete front sprocket or two to go with the rear.

Gaskets for oil changes since your first one will be around 600 miles.

Dean- I will be picking up a rotor, what is the life on the front sprocket?

qurtrn- I don't see a gasket for an oil change listed. They don't come with the filters?

I have a battery tender already, I was asking specifically about EBR parts, due to the price increase on the 16th. I've read several posts that say if you change to a 42 tooth rear sprocket it won't mess with the speedo or gear indicator. Has anyone verified this? thanks folks!

I am with Dean, front sprockets, and chain sliders, rotor and mounting hardware would be nice, although I have never worn out a rotor, even with 5,000 track day miles.
Air filter, pads any of the maintenance stuff would be good to have. From what I have read the sprocket should not mess with the speedo or gear indicator, just to be sure you can email EBR to verify

Stock gearing *I think* includes 41-43 teeth rear sprockets, whatever it was for the front. Anything outside of that requires reprogramming of the ecm to keep the speedo correct. I want to say the front was 16 teeth.
I know you can go either up or down on the front, but to keep the final drive ratio correct, you'd need to alter the rear at the same time. Some changes require a longer chain, so keep that in mind as well.
The oil filter is commonly available, it's the same part as the 1125 Buell. Same with the front rotor, although the mounting hardware is 1190 specific. You *could* run an 1125 rotor up front if none are available.

OEM EBR M18 Oil Drain Plug LH Washer -EBQ0092.1B6
OEM EBR Oil Filter Cover O-Ring -EBCF0003.1B6

Got these from AF1 with Amsoil when I did my oil change. If you're placing an order with LAP anyway, might want to add a few of each of these to have handy.

I put on a 43T rear sprocket and now the gear indicator is off. It reads 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5.

Thanks for the info. Did it improve your city driving at all?

Get the ECM calibrated for the new sprocket and it fixes the gear indicator.

Yes, it helped around town.
I putting a new exhaust on, so I'll get the ECM that's calibrated for the sprockets.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but do these washers and o-rings fit the 1125 also? I am in desperate need for these as soon as i can get them at the best price.

Thanks

SX- not sure, but you can buy the kit here on AF-1 racing for the 1125. If the part numbers are the same, you've got your answer.
