Any one know where I can get the Oil+Filter+O-rings for less than 90 bucks on AF1? I know Ams-Oil is not cheap but it seems a bit absurd.

Call Amsoil and become a Preferred Customer and the break you get will save you the coin for a filter. Get your filters and spare parts from LAP at a 20% discount right now.

Is anyone using anything beside Amsoil?

You can buy the 1125 filter, orings and washer off ebay for about $15. Same parts.

Castrol Power 4T V-Twin on my first change. Was surprised how much thicker the 20W50 stuff is compared to the typical 10W30 used in my other bikes. Actually swapped over to Shell Rotella T6 in my Suzukis and Triumph a couple of years ago...stuff is $20 a gallon at the parts store.

I'm surprised there isn't an oil thread on the site yet. Every other forum I frequent has a lengthy thread containing everyone's opinion on the subject.

I've never felt the need to go through all the flaming hoops required to buy Amsoil.

20/50 Valvoline Racing synthetic (yes...car oil..!) with an old stock of Rotax filters from my 1125CR.
I have a long history of both Mobil 1 and the Valvoline. With a few of my own personal tests thrown in for my own personal satisfaction.
I JUST got done changing the oil in my RX this evening. 10576.2 miles (almost 9 months on the road), only a couple of small whiskers of metal on the pan plug magnet, and nothing visible on the filter paper.

I'm an amsoil dealer and sell at cost. But I do also support AF1 as they run this page =)

Those of you using Motul may want check with the Splitlath team. Motul is a one of their main sponsors but I know for a fact that they now run Amsoil in the bikes. Let's just say that both the WSBK teams and Mark found the bikes hold together much better on the Amsoil stuff.

Well, then there's this:

My guess is, as often as we change the oil, we could run damn near anything and be OK.

Nope, I sent my merchandising rep an email about it. Haven't heard back yet.
