If anyone is looking to change the style handlebars on their SX, the LSL X-Bar Drag Bars fit nicely! They lower the hand/body position about 2 1/2" from the stock handlebars and you can customize the hand width too. Cornering at the track and laying on the tank will feel so much better and won't make you reach up like the stock bars do. The stock bars just felt goofy laying low on the tank in the corners. For everyday street riding it only dropped my chest down a bit more, but not quite as much as the RX with clipons does. It seems to have split the difference between the two style of bars.

This is the third set of bars I had bought for the bike. The first was a badassed set of Woodcraft clipons. The headlight and ignition/lock set make this style clipon impossible to use on an SX. Then I got a new set of Buell clubman bars. These would be great and look cool on the SX but they sit too far forward for my smaller body size, so they didn't work out either.

Here's where I found them at: https://spieglerusa.com/x-bar-handlebar-drag-bar-4491.htm

Those look really good. Would you be able to get some pics from farther away, showing the whole bike?

I put the mirrors on tonight. It is 37" wide now, so it will stll go through a doorway with a little finesse.

would you sell the OEM bars?

I plan to keep them if I don't like the lowered drag bars for street riding; that way I can switch them for track days

Marco, if you want a spare set of OEM bars LAP has them listed for sale, part #N0002.1B9ZT for $122.83. I do have a new but previously installed set of OEM Buell clubman bars that will fit on the SX if you are interested. They were the only set listed in the US when I bought them. $125.00 plus shipping across the pond.

I the inside diameter of the LSL's the same as the stock SX bars? So if I ordered Rhino Bar ends to fit the stock bars they would fit the LSL's aswell?

Cheers
Scott

Inside diameter of the LSL bar is 14.1 mm or .555"

Thanks for that, might be a mod I do down track, although the stock bars are pretty comfortable I normally like a little more forward lean when riding, but not as aggressive as clipons.

Oh nice! I wish I could get race RX body work on it somehow. I've been track daying my 2015 R1 but I think the EBR would be as good or better. That wind blast on the long straight would be terrible. I think I'll order a set of these.

RV7PILOT, it apprears that the conversion of an SX to a trackable bike with a race fairing can be done rather easily. Removal of the headlight, and installing the RX fairing support bracket (L0942.1BYCX) is the easy part. The stock bars and mirrors are too high to be used with the fairing, but the LSL drag bars should work out fine. If not then Apex's MotoGP clipons mount withou the ignition switch being in the way. (Too tight in there for "regular" style Woodcraft clipons.) I have the Hot Bodies race fairing set in primer grey waiting for my order from LAP to be processed so I can mock everything up. As soon as that is done I will be adding a picture tutorial to the "What did you do to your EBR today" thread: http://ebrforum.com/showthread.php?824-What-did-you-do-to-your-EBR-today
