Install was much easier than I thought. I snapped a few pictures during the install. I put the bike up on some pieces of wood to increase the kick stand lean .. not a drop of oil dripped out when I removed the cover.

Clutch effort is definitely decreased and is now equivalent in feel to my Sportster and Monster. I would say that Shorty Levers may even be OK to use now.

The hardest part of install was getting the original piston cylinder out of the cover. It was jammed in there good. The replacement cylinder went in pretty easy. The retaining ring was a pain too .. make sure you have a nice heavy duty retaining Ring tool since its pretty beefy.

I didn't take any pics of the piston assembly ... just a bunch of O-rings to put on .. In the Springs Pic ... Green are the new springs. Yellow are factory.

Thanks for the write-up.

Almost exactly like a Aprilia Rotax under that cover. Same style diaphragm for the slipper/clutch pull assist. Aprilia puts the slave on the other side of the engine, and uses that thru rod to push on the pressure plate.

Can it be given that the 1190 clutch design is pretty much the same as the 1125 regarding the 1125's service manual procedures for R&R'ing the easy pull clutch kit?

I saw a posting of the 1125 clutch assembly diagram from the service manual ... it looks identical to the 1190 diagram included in the instructions.

And to see if the thread will come back to life, WHY OH WHY didnt ebr just use a CABLE CLUTCH system like most all other makes....you can go sit on dozens of sport bikes with cable cluthes and they are smooth and easy....I just dont see why they went thru the extra effort to do a hydraulic clutch and how it made it thru years of racing and into production bikes with that heavy of a pull AND a clutch lever so far away from the bar. even on the closest setting its a reach for me...I' want a lever where that is the farthest.

d-

Stay off a dyno with that installed..!
I got this info years back straight from EBR. The diaphragm spring is too weak to handle much dyno work.
Shoulda just done some hand exercises.

My dealer attempted to install this. With the race ecu and tips (muffler delete) they said the clutch would slip. I just put up with the heavy lever.

Dean ran this kit with his exhaust and ECM. I'm sure it's putting out more power than just having the secondary muffler removed.

can you get just a "somewhat reduced effort" by just replacing the piston, but leaving the stock springs? get a "best of both worlds" type thing going?

Great writeup, my kit is on the way!

I installed mine last night. Overall an easy install other than that retainer ring, what a pain in the ass. I doubt I will see slipping as I don't ride that aggressively nor do I take it to the track, but there is tuning that could be done with this kit. I think a mix of springs 3 soft and 3 hard would be ok because the clutch halves are very solid. I don't see why you couldn't do a piston swap by itself, it looks like they traded some travel for force.

Has anyone tried the Oberon slave cylinder in the EBR's stead? Are they pretty much the same?

I am considering this kit, but all the pictures are not showing up. Anyone archive the pictures and write-up?

Thanks
