Starts on the 16th. A few weeks ago, their own webpage announced the 1190AX would be revealed there; then the announcement was quickly deleted. An "anonymous" post on Badweb said this would not be happening.

Fox news did a segment on the show this weekend:

http://video.foxnews.com/v/3834039917001/hottest-b ikes-on-the-market/#sp=show-clips (http://video.foxnews.com/v/3834039917001/hottest-bikes-on-the-market/#sp=show-clips)

Note the statement at 1:24: "They will be showing another new model at the show next weekend."

Anybody want to speculate what it is?

Hmmm, that's got me curious. It could be a huge number of things and I don't know which is most likely.

One possibility is the report could very well be wrong and they don't actually have anything.

I think we could also see the 2015 version of the 1190RX - likely with some minor modifications to address some of the the teething problems and maybe offer some modifications that will improve race performance.

Or a new 1190RS - Limited edition high performance model with an MSRP in the ballpark of $25,000

Or, we really will see the 1190AX (If so, I have a feeling it will be a show bike with the production version still 6 months or more away).

Or a variation of the 250 cc Hero - if so, I'd expect some unique EBR touches - maybe a 300 cc engine, rim brake and some other performance bits to set it apart from the eventual less expensive Hero version. If it's going to be badged as an EBR, I'd expect it to be assembled in East Troy but with a large number of components coming from India.

Or a similar variation of the Hastur, again with some unique components and assembled in East-Troy.

Or it could simply be the 250 or Hastur shipped directly from India, no special mods with either and EBR or Hero Badge.

If I could have whatever I want, I think it would be a high-performance 750 twin based on the Hastur - ready to race in Sportbike . . . but I think that's extremely unlikely.

Yea, they really haven't given us a clue to go on.

I did find this today: EBR new model release on Thursday from 11:30 AM to noon is listed in the official AIMExpo schedule here:

http://issuu.com/babcox/docs/aimexpo_show_directory_2014?e=1577724%2F9628590

It also says they'll have demo rides along with several other manufacturers.

Cool! So at least we should be able to look forward to something. I had another thought. Maybe they'll do something similar to Ducati (and similar to what Buell did in the past) - Release an 800 cc version of the 1190 that is otherwise nearly identical but offers a lower cost option. That wouldn't be real exciting to me, but might make a lot of business sense.

I was going through all the options in my head last night and I really don't have a clue what direction they might go. Every option seems nearly as likely as the others. The only thing they've telegraphed is the 1190AX, so maybe we shouldn't overthink it. It's probably as likely as anything that the plans on that have just been shifting and they weren't quite sure when they'd show it and it turns out it's ready.

. . . but then if that were the case, they've been so open about the fact that it was coming, I don't know why they wouldn't simply say: "Check in Thursday for your first look at the EBR 1190AX!"

I almost suspect from the lack of suspense building from EBR - no teases, no glimpses like we've seen in the past, that maybe it's not real exciting. Like just the sightly modified 2015 version of the RX.

I was looking around to see if I can get any clues 50 hours in advance and I notice on another forum, somebody pointed out that the AX has never been called an "1190AX". I could swear it did say 1190AX on the official website, so I just checked. Nope. Just says "AX" But I think that's relatively recent. I'd swear it used to be "1190AX".

Anyone else going to be there? I'll be standing by at 11:30 on Thursday for sure.

Scott- yea, I'm sure I've seen "1190AX" in print, if not officially from EBR at least in articles strongly implying the info came directly from EBR. If the AX isn't based on the 1190 platform, I guess the future is wide-open and we don't have a clue what we could see on Sunday.

I sure wish they'd give us a teaser video or at least some blurry/distant/partially obscured photos to hold us until Thursday.

EDIT: "1190AX" is listed on an official Erik Buell Racing site- http://www.erikbuellracing.com.au/1190ax/

Maybe the reason it's being delayed is they decided to go 1290 to follow KTM and (apparently) Ducati.

I'm not getting my hopes up. Remember all the teasers and glimpses we had of the RS and RX before unveiling? Even with the SX, I remember a tease photo that gave us a glimpse when Cory was at a track with it.

I would think that if it were a truly new model, we'd see something on EBR's facebook designed to build attention. I'm thinking it's likely to just be the 2015 RX.

Do we know if any moto-websites will be doing live feeds? I remember getting live info last year (including photos of the RX prior to official release) but I can't remember where.

Less than 2 hours (though I don't know how quickly we'll get info). Keeping my fingers crossed for something really cool, but not expecting much.

This pic from the show posted to Badweb a few minutes ago. Hopefully we'll see something more than "bold new colors!"

I strongly suspect that's it. But if it's going to be bold new colors, at least those are cool bold new colors. :thumb: And EBR certainly didn't promise or even hint at anything new, so take away our anticipation and they exceeded any expectations they specifically created.

In my opinion, that's the best looking EBR we've seen. :thumb: Not that my opinions worth a whole lot.

Looks like they're putting a lot of effort into serving the club-racing crowd - which is exactly what I think they should be doing. Start from the ground up and get EBRs winning club - WSBK is a much tougher climb. I think the thing that sets the EBR apart is that they're easy bikes to ride fast and less experienced riders can get more out of them than they can some of the other bikes out there.

The combination of intuitive handling and available torque make it a lot easier to turn good laps than a bike that requires the rider to constantly shift to keep the power-band in the sweet-spot. World class riders will do well on bikes that can reward the person that does everything right, but the EBR's shine in their forgiveness for missed shifts and other errors.

In a way, as much as I would have liked to see something new and exciting, I think this is the best thing for the company. They need to focus on building these bikes and selling these bikes and getting established before they start branching out in other directions. They've got two really great bikes to offer - the best two bikes ever made in the US, I'd argue as a performance bike enthusiast. So let's see them focus on making those bikes as good as they can be while building public awareness. They need to keep their costs low while bringing more money in the door. That's how they'll live to see the days when we can get the other really cool bikes we want from them.

Nice find, Scott. Thanks for posting. Nice video by the reviewer, although he apparently doesn't have a clue about Hero.

I just found this post while searching to see if red rims were ever made for EBRs and I am certainly in love.

I think that GunMetal Gray 1190RX is a one off show bike. I saw it in the EBR trailer during a demo ride in North GA a week or two before the shutdown. They also had a Solid Black SX in there as well. Both colors were supposedly gonna be available for 2015.
