I never understood why they used a rigid mount on the early Buells when bolting the head to the frame. All engines flex to some degree. Didn't realize until now the 1190 did the same because it's not something easily seen. I wonder if there's a way to find out what was the last bike produced with the early connecting rods. Late 2014 is a bit vague. Good video...thanks for posting.

Opposite to what NCCR said in that vid... if you still think the later rods are the issue, it's not 'that' hard to pull the cylinder up and see for yourself. But I'm not sure why you'd want bother doing that without being prepared to actually fix the issue. I believe what they have seen in their research. Even with the "better looking" rods in your engine, it still flexes an incredible amount.

You would be better served to reduce that flex instead of worrying what rods you have. At the minimum a closed deck conversion, and the frame stiffener if your wallet allows. IMHO.

I have an early 2014 RX. Not worried...just curious. I assume there was some reason behind the change.

Me too #24:)

I would assume cost or availability...
