I have read several insurance threads on here but I ran into an issue that I'm not sure if other 2017 owners have had...also 2016 owners. Progressive will not fully cover my 2017 1190sx as it is in the system labeled as an R1 or 1R....NO NOT THE YAMAHA...but it means that it is some type of custom bike, where they may not be able to get parts due to damage. They told me it is in the system through 2015 as a production bike but after that it gets the custom label. I tried to explain that all the previous models have parts that will work as they are essentially the same but that didn't change the fact that they would fully cover my bike.

any thoughts...who has a 2016 or 2017 with full coverage and with who???

I would try Gieco. They don't do agreed value but at least you can get full coverage for financing.

just did an online geico quote...$1300 for the year, full coverage, $500 deductibles and in general the lowest settings on all things you can choose, also includes towing and labor.

My bank lets me go as high as $1000 deductibles, every little bit helps..

I have my 2017 RX insured with State Farm. No issues with them - full coverage is less than $40 a month for me.

rb21.....can you send me a private message with your details???? State Farm just quoted me $1300. Yours is full coverage??? State Farm was first quoting me around $350 until the agent spoke with someone (not sure if she said the underwriter???) but got back to me with the $1300 quote. What are your limits set at??? etc etc....and maybe the phone number to your state farm agent????

I'm only at $780/yr FULL coverage for the '14 EBR, the '14 Brutalé and the '08 STT with Progressive? Got a speeding ticket on there too.

I've been working with Hagarty Classic Car Insurance to include at least the EBR's as they are so low production. I love their insurance. Agreed value, super cheap, great service, and lots of accessories overage.

I will try calling Hagerty tomorrow but like I mentioned the issue I have is model year 2016 and 2017 are considered custom so I will see what Hagerty says and how they classify it and hopefully it’s super cheap for just the one motorcycle thank you

They won't do it yet. "I've been working with Hagarty Classic Car Insurance to include...."

I can give you my info for my State farm rep. I'm in Michigan, we have the highest insurance rates in the entire country. Im almost 40, I have full coverage, my deductible is $200. I pay less than 500 a year. And half the year it's in storage at about 20 bucks a month, so my actual cost is about 350 a year for my bike.

I went with Foremost Insurance. State Farm was like $1400. I ended up around $1100. Full coverage. I forget my coverage amounts. 500 deductible. Maybe 50/100,000 on collision and comp
