I just purchased an Anti Gravity battery for my SX.
It's a 12 cell small case battery #1201. Hope to try it in the bike tonite. It's the only battery that I could find that would fit in the box other than the oem Shorai.
It's the same depth + smaller height + length than the oem.
It say it has 380 cranking amps. Curious that it doesn't say cold cranking amps.
Has anyone had experience with this company/battery?

Guess not. I'll let you know.

Ok here we. The battery fits great. You have to just tweek the L shape on the cables just a little to line up with the cable connections on the battery. In the instructions it says you have to straighten them out cause the contacts are more inward on the battery top. But they almost fit stock.
It's the same thickness as stock battery + is narrower + lower.
So I put some battery padding on the positive side of the battery + a thin piece in back(which is the bottom of the battery)of the battery.
Seat fits fine. Turned on ignition press button + it quickly starts!
You don't need a Shorai battery charger to charge it.
I'm using a late model Battery Tender Jr which on be changed between lead acid to lithium positions.
Slightly more expensive than the Shorai. I paid $186 from Amazon shipped.

PS: Make sure you order the small case model. Their standard 12 cell is a bigger case + won't fit!

Lithium flavored? I'll have to check into it. Thanks!

You really can't measure true cranking amps on a lithium. The power can not be safely extracted fast enough. A fast discharge is what is likely frying the stock batteries.

Yep. I have a current draw with key off. I replaced a bad dash. But that wasn't the problem.
I personally don't like the Shorai dedicated charger. There are just to many connections to it. The cable coming out of the charger is not hard wired to it. Then you have the ponytail connector. Not a snap together connection. Just push connect
Then it plugs into the battery itself with another push connect
Problem with that connection is it points up toward the seat bottom. So it bends down when seat is installed.
Well I put the bike on the charger + road another bike for a week. Went back + battery was dead!
One of the THREE connections must have not been complete.
Now with the Anti Gravity battery it uses a Battery Tender Jr that is switchable between acid/lithium batteries. With the SAE connector there is only one connection which doesn't easily pull apart.

Anybody have any ideas on what might be the draw??

Cooter may have some insight on this issue, he may the same a draw also.

Sorry, but I don't. After updating the dash, and ECVM, even swapping ECM for at least 4 others, I still have that draw split between both the dash an ECM equally.
I plug the EBR into the Shorai charger whenever I'm near it.

Trips are ok, It will hold for a few days without being started no problem. I'm happy about that, because theres just no run-starting a Buell! LOL.

Old thread revival, apologies but it seemed the best thread to post the following.

The battery on my RX has developed problems, I had to steal the Shorai out of my SX to keep the RX going...I've been looking around for something to replace it - not another Shorai after the one I put in my RSV4 had one of the pins corrode completely away. Not cool.

As well as the AG-1201, another AntiGravity battery that should fit is the ATZ-10 Re-Start. I have that battery in my RSV4, dimensionally identical to the original OEM lead-acid battery. I test fitted the OEM RSV4 battery and it fits perfectly if it's lying on its side. The ATZ-10 battery has dual battery posts so that's not an issue. I was looking at the AG-1201 but I don't like the battery terminals, I have a few take-offs on there so the ATZ-style terminals work much better for me. I'll be ordering this sometime soon. As well as a new charger. Anyone interested in my old Shorai chargers ?? :)

Don't worry about it, they're all necro-threads around here:Whatever:. I'd be very interested how it works out for ya. I've heard good/bad things about anti-gravity too, but I feel they're at least a bit newer tech (and don't need a specialized charger).

Having a light blinky 'bad connection' issue with my Shorai charger, currently (PUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!). Sigh, but anyway.... ya I probably pick one up from ya:)

If you're getting the bad connection blinkies, take a close look at the tiny pins where the charger plug fits - one of the pins had completely vanished on the Shorai in my RSV4; just gone, nothing left but a tiny little stump. I couldn't even tell to start with, I had to get a magnifying glass to assist my geriatric eyes...

Hmm, interesting. Yes I will do that! And yes, I'll get my 2.5 readers out:eek:
