Is it possible EBR/ LAP owns the patent for ZTL brakes now? Erik has spoken at length about its merits, not having access to the IP would explain why they're not depicted in an early concept drawing.

Mnscrounger, they do own them, until someone buys the intellectual property rights or they give them to Erik.

I haven't read it, but I don't think a "ZTL patent" is a universal 'Radial Brake Disk' Patent.

How long do patents last? Isn't it only like 7 years? ZTL2 is past that 3 years ago.
