Posted to Motorcyclist's Facebook page; they say the bike is already in production:

Wow! I was sure this would be a Rick Astley video.

Nice, but I'm a little disappointed it's not more disctinct from the 1190RX. Looks like they lost the brake scoop, put wider bars on it and shrunk the fairing (though those big fans still make it far from 'naked').

Other than that, it looks mechanically very similar to the RX. Is there any more information to indicate any hidden differences?

Any word on price? If they could knock a few thousand off the price, that could be a big advantage for an otherwise similar bike.

Motorcyclist hasn't said anything else other than that the bike is already in production. Nothing on EBR's webpage yet, either. EBR Europe has some studio photos of the bike up on their Twitter feed, showing white, black, and red versions.

I'm with you- there are very few parts that are different from the RX. Hopefully they can drop the price significantly.

It looks like they used the same mirrors as the Aprilia Tuono that were a popular retrofit for Ulys.

Galactic black is still a winner. If its even slightly cheaper than the RX it will sell very well.

It's growing on me. My initial reaction was "I was hoping for something a little more different than the 1190RX.", but if I take away expectations and just look at it for what it is, I think it stacks up well against other 'naked bikes' (though I think that phrase has lost its meaning with the bodywork that seems to be used on all these bikes to cover the ugly functional bits). If it has similar power to the RX (as is assumed), is maybe geared for some lower RPM grunt, and has those wide bars for better leverage, it looks to be a really fun bike.

Interesting- hint dropped on Badweb this morning (by someone who should know) that price will be <$16k. If true, I'll bet that will generate a LOT of interest in this bike.

That sounds great, but I'd be surprised if they could drop it that much. I'd guess around $17,500, but I guess we'll know in about 3 weeks.

I miss the old double front light.

I think with two relatively simple fixes it would look a lot better. Double front light and trim down the fan cover so it doesn't cover any of the frame and make it all black, no white.

Forgive my lousy photoshop skills, but I think something like this would look a lot better:

^ I'll bet the top part of the radiator shroud serves as a frame protector, so there's a good reason it covers part of the frame.

I've seen quite few alternate photoshops on Facebook; some really good and some not so much. It'll be interesting to see what owners and the aftermarket come up with.

Those are pretty cool. An aftermarket mod could probably get pretty close to the first one - They probably couldn't do that from the factory because of DOT requirements for license plate and turn-signal placements.

I wouldn't be surprised if the AX looks close to that.

Please no TT. Those plastic 'number' plates were one of the most head-scratching, Harley form-over-function things I've ever seen on a Buell. Though I do like the hand-guards for wind protection.

I hope EBR sticks to truly distinct products (and I suspect as things go on, the RX and SX will become more and more differentiated as they develop them to specific purposes) and we don't see things like the City X and TT introduced as 'new models' as opposed to updates of the established models. I hope that was more of a Harley influence that EBR will get away from.

Nice! Love the blue. Do we know if anybody has taken possession of an SX yet? I don't think I've seen any photos from any owners yet. Who will be first?
