Noticed this today during a quick look over my bike before I rode. Never noticed any metal shavings until today. Looks like the chain is vibrating laterally while riding and making contact with the inside of the swingarm. Any ideas?

Get a new slider block and get that chain off there now. Even if you tension it high and tight it will still have side slop and continue to eat on the swingarm. DID ZVM-X is the chain most use. You also need to re-torque the swingarm pivot shaft. When you replace the chain and do the swingarm, also align the tires to track true with each other. Don't rely on the dots at the back of the swingarm for tire alignment.

Your chain is too loose, quite simply put.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yes

Just for the fun of it I just checked my swing arm pivot , it was at 42ft lbs ,tighten it up to 48 ft lbs.

Thanks for linking that. I will most likely run mine a hair tighter as well then. Also, thanks for the kick ass exhaust system you made that is on my bike. Best sounding thing I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

Got a new slider block and a DID chain on order. I'll make sure to re-torque that swingarm pivot shaft as well. Do you think I need to worry about the structural integrity of that swingarm?

No , I think you just had your chain was too loose, These chains are different than other bikes with the tension idle wheel, as Dean pointed out with that video with him in it with Erik's bike.
How many miles do you have on your bike?

I have seen your issue a few times, just too loose.

Is Derrick on here? Shoulda seen his swingarm when we went to Alice's. Wow! He was leading and I could hear that thing grinding over Tony's DA exhaust.

Thoughts on rear sprocket manufacturer? I have a 44t right now, might as well as replace it with a new chain on order.

It is a good idea to swap chain and sprockets at the same time. Does the sprocket show wear ? How many miles do you have on your bike?

I went with the 43 Steel from JT sprocket, little more top end front stays down more than with a 44t, good price. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AVS70I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sprocket definitely has wear. Been needing to replace it for the past 500 miles. Right now I have about 7300 on it.

What does your front sprocket look like? If the front is worn it ruin a new chain fast.

Normally all 3 should be changed at the same time, to be correct. I know it's not what you wanted to hear. Finding front sprockets are a challenge for the EBR.

If they are not too bad you will be fine.

To be honest, I havent checked the front sprocket until today. Thoughts? I did get the JT sprocket (stuck with 44t) on order, my DID chain, and a new chain slider box ordered.

It looks like it seen better days. To make a better judgement will need to see a shot from the side view.

LAP has a few swingarms left and selling them pretty cheap -at least it seemed cheap to me - on ebay right now. Might be worth the peace of mind to replace it at that price.

Great price for a Swing arm, IMO not needed for a few chain marks.

Went ahead and ordered the new front sprocket. Changing all three items at once seems like the best course of action here.

Tighten it to the point that you think it's too tight and then go a little more. If you have a cheap fish scale (spring scale for checking weight) you want about 3/4" total movement with 30 lbs of pull force on it. I know that sounds absurdly tight but it's not. If there were more than 1100 EBR's out there, I'd go ahead with one of my tensioner checking tool ideas I had a few years ago that would be totally fool-proof, but, since there isn't, I won't do it.

Great advice! I'll go pull my scale out of the tackle box.

I tried to order that front sprocket through NCCR. They emailed me back advising me that I would most likely need the needle bearing as well since it usually gets destroyed in the process. Went with their advice and it is on the way. They were amazingly cool and dropped a 25% discount on it for me. Good people over there.

How much is it going to be with shipping? Nice people. I bought a head fairing from them in the spring for my SX.
