Man, it's crickets in here! Almost a week since the last post. I'm sure many check this site daily as I do, why not throw down real quick? Fast and easy on that device in your pocket. Anyway.

What's everybody doing for the Winter? And mods planned on your EBRs? I have parts sent out for powdercoat and black hard anodizing, and plan to install heavier clutch springs and Oberon slave cylinder, as well as install my Accossato radial master cylinders and other bits.

Not by choice, Waiting for my carbon clutch kit from Barnett, all ready have my Heavy duty racing springs, My stock clutch measured in at 29.7mm just under the min. With my riding style and my pipe, qiuck shift and deans tune with only 3200 miles stock clutch in fried with all the extra HP hoping the new springs will clamp better and get more miles on this clutch. Moral of the story if you have the lighter springs as my 15sx has they dont cut it.

I'm eyeballing that spring kit.

I'm also looking for more comfortable grips.

Toying with the idea of running a cheap action cam and screen for rear view as a replacement for mirrors. I hate mirrors and this would also alleviate the fear of smacking them during my hour-long lane-splitting commute to/from work every day. Not necessarily an EBR-specific thing...but it's one of the things I'm looking at doing anyways.

Re mirrors: At least one mirror mounted on the bike is required by law in Cali. In the past I thought I was being clever by taking the stock mirrors off and wearing a helmet visor with two small mirrors built in. But a Chippie wrote me a ticket regardless for the bike not having a mirror, grrr.

That's easy to get around, little dinky sticky mirrors on the side of the headlight housing for side-views. Boom.

-edit-

Something like pig spotters, but I've seen them smaller.

Been waiting all summer to ride.. mods will wait until next summer. It is smash time. I have 3700 miles on it, trying to get to 7000 ish before summer so I can do valves, plugs, tires, chain and sprockets.

I think tires and sprockets will have to happen fast because they are beat back.lol

I'm not sure of the part#(I'll find the box)but it was listed as a universal. Also had to use a sleeve on one of the bolt holes./ Someone on the forum hooked me up. So look it up in search.

Har, har funny guy. It's easier to flip up that way until I get a keyless one thats captured, even though you are totally right:owned: lol

Yes, its a universal one, and quite a bit longer than it needs to be (check the off-set in the clamp), but more of an experiment since the stock one is so lightly valved. It does fit the SX bar clamps without mod (barely) and clears the airbox too! The rod ends are thicker so the pivot side got extra o-rings to protect it from corrosion and I got hardware 5mm longer. The piston end needs a sleeve with a 1/4" OD and 6mm ID, so I drilled out some 1/4" aluminum tubing I had laying around. Stainless hardware is on the way. All in all, an easy swap if you are comfortable with tools.

Functionally it's a HUGE improvement. The bike would get upset mid corner with pavement undulations when harsh bumps would be ok. I kept taking the stock one off to make sure it was working and it was/is. This one needs to be 1-4 clicks from max to be valved stiffer than stock but thats plenty. I like it!

The Ducati reservoirs are just there to be pretty. I get lots of good comments on them:smoke:

From the aftermarket parts thread -

Parts for upgrading to Ohlins Steering damper (P/N SD-000) if you feel the need to have an adjustable steering damper. You only need one of the small sleeves to make it fit. Basically one of the holes on the damper is to large for the stock mounting hardware. Just press the sleeve into the hole and you are all set. I was able to do the press work with a set on channel locks

Good find on the sleeves! I thought the 8mm O.D. (.310 inches) would be too big. But i guess not. I'm sure there's plenty of other places to use them on a EBR, so I'll get a pack:)

Works great on my SX. Yo;u can buy a package of sleeves on Amazon for like $6. Comes with plenty if you make a mistake. They are split sleeves.

The anodizing and powdercoating are on the slow train at my machinists lair, as they are waiting on other parts to be done at the same time, so probably not till late January or early February. I ended up selling the Accossatos instead because I have something different planned now. And Alan is still in progress on the new custom APH pipe (oops, spoiler :D ).
