Anybody else get an insane quote to insure their bike? I currently have 5 bikes insured [Geico], some with collision and some without depending on value. The quote to add the SX was nearly four times as much compared to a similar value bike [Yamaha FJR] for like coverage. I have only received the quote online and haven't talked to a human being yet but the price seems wildly out of line.

May be time to start shopping for a new carrier.

I have State Farm and am pretty sure that my the premiums on my EBR's and Ktm 1290 Super Adventure run roughly the same. I don't recall having any issue with the cost when they quoted it - probably somewhere around $35 a month

I paid $500 for the entire year with full coverage plus some extra coverage. Progressive.

Spoke again with Geico today; they're quoting over $100/month. To put in in perspective I pay less than 1/3 of that to insure the FJR.

Been a LONG time Geico customer [also have auto and homeowners with them] but will have to shop around to get a quote that I can recognize.

Thanks rb21 and MCase for letting me know that this is not the norm.

I'm paying $294/mo full coverage with Geico on my '17 SX. They're actually the cheapest, since I have a "Operating A Motor Vehicle Without A Permit/License" on my record.

I pay $100 a YEAR for basic liability @ Progressive.
But I'm old, it was about $100 a month, when I was younger with multiple speeding tickets, Lol.

I guess having 'Racing' in the manufacturer's name is not helping my case with the insurer.

Technically, the 2016/2017s don't have Racing in the name of the company, as it became solely EBR by legal standards when LAP took over. But finding a company that actually has 2016/17 listed is another story.
