I have done a few mods to my SX , One of the first things I should have done was to put a 43 tooth on , If you have not yet, IMO Do it now, If you can believe it , it makes your bike more enjoyable to ride. :301:

A 39 tooth sprocket is a blast as well! I barely get out of third gear on country roads, and it will still run a fairly quick 1/4 mile at the track too.

Never really looked while racing. It does climb though. Check out www.gearingcommander.com

Hey quick question... So does the ecm that is calibrated to rear sprocket tooth count, does the ecm now know the new speed and does it count miles correctly?

There is a tone ring on the rear wheel that is used to read speed by the IC on the dash. The ECM uses RPM & speed to calculate the gear indicator on the dash, I believe.

The ecm will have to be corrected to indicate the proper gear. If it is a stock ecm then IDS will do it for a small fee, and if is a programmable ecm then you can do it with a computer.

Really love the 44th rear. I can cruise in 6 gear and it seams to have better low speed drivability.

Can the 43 or 44t sprockets be used with the stock chain ?
Or are we better just upgrading chain as well (DID 520, I think)?
Chain size ?

I'm trying to find a 43T, but everywhere I look is sold out, or out of stock. Traffic in SoCal is horrible, and even being able to split lanes, still need to do 10-15mph @ times. Be nice not to have to ride the clutch so much.
