The 1190RX and SX have a pigtail built into the harness at the front of the bikes. On the SX, the connector is located behind the headlight close to the ignition.

That connector is the same connector used in Buell xbs '08+. Harley carries (or at least did carry) an accessory socket that plugged into that connector - Buell p/n Y0198.1AK. I believe it is the same p/n used for the Buell Ulysses front socket.

Remove the cap from the factory harness, plug it in, and Bam! You have power.

Now we need to mount the socket somewhere.

Unfortunately, EBRs don't have a lot of spare room for a socket, and I didn't want to drill holes in my bike anyway, so I picked this up on sale from my local Cycle Gear (for about $5). I separated the socket from the mounting bracket, and am only using the mounting bracket in my application.

Not the best picture, but I mounted the Buell socket to the mounting bracket, and installed it on my handlebars. The factory length worked out perfectly.

Verify that you phone is charging, then zip tie everything and clean up!

I was just using this spare cell phone and cable for testing purposes. When actually running this, I will be using a shorter charge cable and will probably zip tie it to the bike to prevent any excess cable getting in the way.

Wow, great idea thanks. I have a unit that mounts to the handle bar with a USB & cigar lighter plug so I can use both my gps & radar detector at the same time. I'll try & see if HD still carries the plug.

I just went on google & that part # does not exist for Buell parts. Could that be an incorrect part #?

Sorry - I think I added an extra letter at the end of the part number. I will edit the original post to fix it. Thanks!

Wanted to say thank you for this write up. I ordered all the same parts using ebay. I ended paying about the same as you did after finding some sellers with shipping that were cheap. This is a great community.
