I was thinking about the possibility of deleting the primary muffler/cat and doing a streamlined exhaust into the factory secondary to improve flow but keep the noise level down. Anyone tried this and have any numbers to show for it? Any pre-fab mid pipes out there or am I on my own if I go this route?

You'd be on your own. Haven't seen it done. Tuning would be required, it will drastically alter the air/fuel mixture and not in a good way. Elimination of the primary muffler & catalytic converter will significantly increase the noise generated.

Decided to heck with it and ordered an oval system from your site, Dean. Can't be louder than my other bike. I hope..

You might be surprised. That's a pretty loud exhaust (in a good way).

People cover their ears when I go by them on my other street bike. It is LOUD.
