I posted this also on the other forum- sorry if redundant for those of us who frequent both!

I may have missed the point on the R6 throttle tube mod. I took it to understand the R6 throttle had less rotation to get you to WFO, and made the bike livelier based on given throttle input.

Uh, they are exactly the same rotation angle to WFO. A little less than 90 degrees.

The distance between the eyelets for the 2 cables on the throttle housing is the same and the R6 tube has a bit of additional plastic on the pull cable eyelet side- but it is flush with the tube body (not ramped)- so no additional "cam" effect.

What did I miss as the benefit to this modification?

first picture = EBR OEM closed

second picture = EBR OEM WFO

3rd picture = R6 throttle tube installed and WFO

4 picture = R6 throttle tube (LEFT) compared to OEM EBR (RIGHT)

I am planning to do on my 2018 R6, Also it comes with a YCCT electric throttle so, I am worried. I saw a guide about this on Mototech (https://www.mototechindia.com/yamaha-yzf-r6/), but couldn't try. However, thank you for this comprehensive guide with pictures.

Earlier R-6 (2012 IIRC) had the same size. Later R-6 had the bigger throttle cam (larger diameter), but IMO spend the $ on the Motion Pro Rev2. Yes its more money but VASTLY superior, easier, and adjustable too.
