Diggin' this ride, not the '98 S1W that I rode for 11 years. That bike was cool, but the SX is bad ass fast.

My question...

I bought the Pitbull stand and the spools, but the lift is too close to the swing arm for my comfort. I'm afraid it will gouge the swing arm. Can anyone confirm that there is enough meat in the swing arm to go from the stock 6MM spool bolts to 8MM? I'll machine my own spools if I have to.

More questions to come, I'm sure.

Thanks,

Al

972Not sure of the size , but I am using these , Wider back so you don't hit the swing arm

Yes, there have been complaints that the stock spools are close and that the lift ears will mark up the swingarm. Making them a bigger diameter helps to get the lift out away from the swingarm. A bigger through bolt isn't necessarily needed.

Which rear stand did you get from Pitbull? I had one for my Buell, and would have been too tight for the EBR, so I sold that and bough the extra wide one that is meant for the EBR. I also picked up the spools from pitbull and have not had any issues. If I can get a pic this afternoon, I'll post it.

Thank you for the replies.

I'm pretty sure I got the right stand, it's for the EBR and V-max I think. Outside width of the ears is 18" maxed.

I think I ordered the wrong spools (anodized), as yours appear to be much wider than mine.

Wish I knew more about 'puters, having issues posting pics.

That looks great with the exhaust / grip skins!!! How do the leg grip strips hold up with the heat off the frame? I understand the frame can get quite toasty after a long ride.

Your bike looks great! Can you post a pic from the back? I can see your turn signals, but not the rear light. I'm interested to see how it came out.

Saw your post just before leaving for work this afternoon, I'll take some pics and post them up tomorrow.

I think your plate mount looks cleaner than the Tail tidy, but the feds here in Pennsyltucky would throw fits.

Thanks. The wiring for yours is much more tidy than what I had to do for mine, so I guess we both win. Lol

Looks great.

Was looking through some old (since I registered) threads and came across this post...

Shredder,

The Skins seem to be holding up fine, but I haven't taken the bike on any long trips. It's pretty much transportation to and from work, and of course, the obligatory blast on the river roads around here on weekends..
