2014 SX had the same shock with yellow spring as the RX. 2015-up SX got a different shock with red spring that is slightly softer spring rate. IIRC the red spring is 487 lb/in and the yellow spring 500 lb/in. I have a red spring shock on my 2017 SX with 2300 miles that I will be pulling off in a few days when I get my Showa race shock in the mail, if you are interested in a later shock. $200+shipping and it's yours.

If you are looking for a red spring, I believe this is the same rate @ 475 lbs
A friend of mine called Cooter, see below , already put one on his SX 2014 he says it feels the same as the yellow spring.

I did exactly that to replace the yellow spring in my 2014 SX. When I had them all apart I did extensive measuring and testing with both coils side by side. I haven't posted all the specs yet, and I still have the 1125 red spring on the SX, but the punchline is all my testing was.... inconclusive.
Where did you find that #487 spec? It's weird. These coils aren't made to that tight a tolerance.
#500lb/in to #487lb/in is such a tiny rate variation (<>2%), it's really hard to test with my non-pro equipment. You could never tell with your butt-dyno. It would be a very 'Buellish' thing for them to do to just use NOS 1125 coils on the new EBR's. Just sayin'
I'm about 220 with gear and IMO I still think the red coil is way to stiff, even for the track. For my weight, I'd prefer a 450 for the track and even a 400 for the street.
I wonder what the shock difference in 2015 was?
Those numbers stuck in my head for some reason, but I don't remember exactly when I read or heard it, though I want to say it was in early 2015 shortly after we at NRHS EBR took delivery of a 2015 SX.

I'll try to get my testing pics up of the springs side by side. It's inconclusive (to me), but should be fun for us to dork out on the figures
When I was on the fence, whether to buy a 2014 or a 2015, I made notes of my research and they say the yellow spring is 550# and the red is 475#. Don't recall where I got that info though. I bought the 2015 for the red spring, lighter clutch springs and 1 year newer for the same price, sold me.
Oh wow. If the difference is that much I will definitely want a lighter spring, I think, on the Showa Race Shock I am installing, as the spring on it is 575 lbs/in IIRC.
