    Turn Signal Bulb

This bike continues to confound me. Riding to work earlier this week I noticed that the blink rate on the turn signals had accelerated, like a bulb was out. Upon arrival I looked carefully through the clear lenses and saw that all the bulbs had filaments that were in tact.

Later that day I moved bulbs around and found that one of them was indeed bad, even though it was not burned out. Decided to go to the parts store to find a replacement. And then went to another. And then another. And then another. None had anything in stock nor could they cross-reference the bulb number, GE 2641A. I looked through the manual, and it simply lists an EBR part number for the bulb, which coincidentally doesn't exist on the LAP replacement part spreadsheet.

After looking online, cross-referencing with Philips, etc. it seems EBR managed to source a bulb that doesn't exist in the aftermarket. I gave up and ordered some replacement LED signals.

Just a warning to you guys out there, but maybe someone has had some better luck finding a replacement.

    Well let's see...

Are the 1190RX/SX turn signals not the same turn signals that the 2010 Buell's used? I'm pretty sure that they are. So, I looked in the 2010 1125CR parts manual that I have and it shows the bulbs in the rear turn signals to be Buell part numbers Y0042.K, Which led me to this tidbit:

A Google search for Y0042.7AA should provide some other useful info...

Right. Finding info on the bulb isn't the issue. Finding one to buy is. Just a warning to everyone that if they expect to run over to the parts store and find a replacement they're bound to be disappointed.

Just an FYI - My 2014 EBR 1190RX manual lists EBR p/n Y0042.1B6...I believe the EBR parts web-site is up and running now, most parts should be available directly through EBR now that production has begun in full swing... :)

FYI, the stock lamp base is a BYU-15S @ 10 watt. Search for this in LED, lots of results. Some incorporate resistors to regulate hyper-flash, or get a digital flasher.
And you can search for a filament type lamp if that's what you're after. As long as you don't exceed 10 watt, anything higher might burn the housing.
