Anyone have a direct comparison of the Brembo SC vs 856DS?
According to Geoff May and Erik Buell, sbs is the best race pad on the market. I have talked with Geoff several times at track days, he did a lot of testing with different brake compounds, the sbs resisted fade and had better performance than any other pads they tested.
On eBay there are pads SBS 856RS. It is the same?
The official site SBS for the 1190 generally recommend 856HS:

Where is the truth?
From what I gather, the DS pads are for high level racing, ie; WSBK, etc. They wear like iron, but have a very high potential of destroying the rotor. The HS is designated for street (performance) use, the RS is for track days or competition. I have one set of DS pads left that I'll be installing on one of my 1190's, the other will get a set of 2015 compound pads from EBR that I've been hoarding.
The RS pads are not the same as the DS pads. RS work OK, but wear out ridiculously fast. I got 9 - 20 minute sessions before going through to metal. I am worried about the DS destroying rotors. I have head stories about what Aaron Yates would do to rotors. He could deform them while riding. I got a set of Brembo SC's to try.
I use Braking 939CM55 in front, they have enough for 3000 km.
It cost circa 70$.
i have 3years of track days, 16 to 20 days per year on the same rotor, I run a fast intermediate pace slow advanced and have had no issue with the ds brake pads, or rotors. No one on this forum can run with Aaron Yates or Goeff May, so there wont be a problem. lol
No problem - we just share their views.
It is strange, that on 856DS even silent manufacturer...
These pads track only?
